We recently stayed at Octant Douro to celebrate our first year anniversary and we couldn't have been happier. I think we were given a free upgrade and the view of our room was incredible! The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. We were welcomed with fruit, a bottle of wine, and a personalised card in our room, which made us feel really special. We ate in both of the hotel restaurants and the food never disappointed. Again, we were given a special treat at the end to mark the occasion! The breakfast is also really good. Although we didn't have a spa treatment we made use of the steam room, sauna and heated pool, which were excellent. The hotel is beautiful but the staff's excellent service and attention to detail really set it apart. It's clear that they take great pride in their work.

Had a river view room and it was beautiful. This place is so quiet. A break from the hectic everyday life and this refreshed my mind. The staff is super helpful and kind. Rooms are great. Food is also good!

Octant Douro was a piece of heaven on Earth. From the moment you drive in, you feel like you an entering a castle overlooking the Douro river. We were greeting with port wine for the adults and natural orange juice for the kids. The views from every vantage point of the hotel were breathtaking. The facilities were incredible and our room felt like luxury incarnated. It was amazing.

Spacious room with stunning view. Kettle provided in our room, together with fresh bottles of bottled water provided every day. Very dog friendly - dog allowed practically everywhere, including the dining room, when treats and water bowl were forthcoming. Or perhaps our dog was just spoilt because she is old an quiet. Great location with picturesque riverside walks in both directions. Plenty of quiet outside areas where you could sit and read, both in and out of the sun. Two outdoor swimming pools with sun bathing/lounging areas. Wonderful breakfasts and meals in the restaurant. Private moorings for guests/ visitors boats, provided lots of interest.

The hotel is superb. Incredible views from main areas, and all the pools are beautiful. The room is an incredible size, as is the bathroom. Food and drinks are priced well for the quality - and meant we really enjoyed the whole experience. Service was a little patchy - but didn't lessen our experience at all.
